Serving Ideas
- We can serve this quiche Lorraine with arugula and avocado salad, spinach and bacon salad and a fresh green salad.
- This keto quiche is also served with low-carb roasted asparagus, roasted green beans, or roasted cauliflower, or cauliflower rice.
- A slice of avocado drizzled with olive oil, pepper and salt is also great with this quiche.
Tips
- Mix the crust carefully to combine everything but do not overmix all the ingredients as it can make the crust tough.
- Use freshly grated cheese as it will enhance the flavor and it will melt more than pre-shredded cheese as it contains an anti-caking agent which affects the melting of the cheese.
- The eggs should be at room temperature otherwise they will not mix properly with the other ingredients.
- If you want the crust to be crunchier, leave the crust uncovered for a few extra minutes. This way, the crust will not be soggy when you add the filling.
- Try not to overcook the quiche. Take it out when the center is still slightly jiggly as it will continue to cook for a while even after being out of the oven.
- We can also add our favorite keto-friendly ingredients like spinach, mushrooms, beef or sausage to customize it to our liking.
- Insert a knife or toothpick to check if the quiche is done or not.
